Robert J Foster, OD
Robert Foster, OD, brings dedication and compassion for eye care as the Medical Director of Legacy Eye Care. Dr. Foster started Legacy Eye Care to offer affordable eye care, and he works hard to deliver outstanding patient care by investing in state-of-the-art technology and the best care practices.
At Legacy Eye Care, he specializes in Dry Eye Disease, Glaucoma, Diabetic Management, Cataracts, and geriatric eye care. He also utilized the best new technologies like Optilight, Alma Lasers and Cynosure.
Dr. Foster began his studies at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho where he played college basketball and received his Associates Degree in Sports Medicine. After serving his Church on a Mission for 2 years in California he then went to Brigham Young University in Provo Utah where he received his bachelor’s of science in psychology (with an emphasis in organizational management). While at BYU he was elected BYUSA President
Following his degree, Dr. Foster went on to complete his optometry education at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania.
He was also passionate about continuing eye care education, taking part in internship programs for special areas of eye care, including ocular disease at Fayetteville VA Medical Center, corneal disease at Eye Care Associates and the Triangle Eye Institute in Raleigh, North Carolina, as well as pediatric eye care, low vision, retinal disease and primary care at Salus University’s Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
In addition, Dr. Foster received additional training in contact lenses and corneal disease at the Contact Lens Institute in Raleigh, North Carolina.
When he’s not helping patients achieve optimal eye health, Dr. Foster enjoys spending quality time with his wonderful wife and their five children, serving as a Leader at his local church, playing and coaching basketball with the Carolina Waves and learning languages.
Ugonma C Nwaohuocha, OD
Dr. Nwaohuocha’s expertise lies in eye care management and contact lenses, making her a reliable resource for various eye-related concerns. Her journey in the field of optometry began at the City University of New York (CUNY), where she completed her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. However, it was her passion for ocular disease and treatment that steered her towards pursuing optometry education at Salus University’s College of Optometry. To further hone her skills, Dr. Nwaohuocha actively participated in an internship program, receiving extensive training in optometry at prestigious medical centers like St. Albans VA Medical Center and Brooklyn Veterans Hospital in New York. Beyond her professional pursuits, Dr. Nwaohuocha finds joy in giving back to the community. Her upbringing has instilled in her the values of love and dedication, and she strives to make a positive impact on others’ lives in any way possible. Patients can trust Dr. Nwaohuocha to provide exceptional eye care, personalized attention, and a genuine commitment to their well-being. Kulsoom Murtaza, OD
Dr. Murtaza embarked on her academic journey at the University of Illinois, and her pursuit of optometry education led her to the esteemed Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. To further enrich her skills, she actively participated in an internship program at the prestigious Illinois Eye Institute. Committed to professional excellence, Dr. Murtaza is an active member of the American Optometric Association (AOA). Her dedication to her field is evident in her board-certification by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO) and her diagnostic and therapeutic certifications. With over two decades of practice, Dr. Murtaza brings a wealth of experience to her patients. She has a broad and comprehensive understanding of eye care treatment and management, instilling confidence in those under her care. Patients can trust Dr. Kulsoom Murtaza to provide not only top-notch clinical expertise but also a caring and compassionate approach, ensuring that each individual’s eye care needs are met with the utmost attention and consideration.
